Letter to Angela Andrade
Dear Angela,
Upon reading your story I have realized that life can be difficult, especially when it throws blow after blow. With that said your perseverance shows that even in troubled times anything can be accomplished. My family went through a tragic earhquake as well, but thankfully everyone was safe. It must have been hard for your family to move out of Colombia and into the United Sates. I couldn't even imagine what it must of been like caring for your daughter alone while Javier was hundreds of miles away. In time though you and Javier were reunited becoming a whole family again. It seems like this is a common occurence amongst natural disasters families getting torn apart, luckily you guys escaped with your lives. My parents went through a similar situation as yours, they had to come to the United States and start fresh. Just like your story they had to learn the native tongue and pave the way for me and my sister, as you did for your daughter Daniela. One thing that didn't sit well with me was the fact that two fellow Colombians robbed Javier out of eight hundred dollars. You would think that they would help you guys out but that just goes to show that humanity can be cruel at times. Although on the opposite side of the spectrum is the good in humanity. It warms my heart to hear that Jeanette and her husband helped you and Javier get you citizenship. It lets me know there's still some hope for humanity.
